Chemical Additives

TEMAK SA produces and sells chemical additives with a complete program for the management and control of chemical additives that improve water treatment and offer protection to the equipment, such as :

  • Low and medium pressure steam boilers

TEMAK SA has prepared and has a special computer simulation program for the operating conditions of the boiler room or cooling circuit. With the help of the program, all the necessary calculations are made, in order to determine the ideal operating conditions (condensation cycles, addition of chemicals, blow-down water rate, operating cost etc).

The correct results of the treatment are systematically monitored, based on the chemical analysis. The statistical processing of the results of the chemical analyzes offers complete supervision of the operation of the circuit. With the help of the Water Quality Computer Analysis program, prepared by TEMAK, the monitoring of the operation of the circuit is easy and fast. For chemical additives for reverse osmosis or nanofiltration membranes, there are corresponding programs for selecting the most efficient chemical product and the appropriate dosing dosage.

Water and Steam Boiler Chemicals

Optimal operation of boilers requires the use of chemicals capable of protecting the equipment from scaling and corrosion.

TEMAK B-Fine chemical additives provide solutions to these problems.

B-Fine 1001 is an anti-corrosion chemical additive used to prevent sediments and scaling to the boiler and to remove sludge deposits deposits already present in it. Its ingredients are FDA approved.

B-Fine 1120 is recommended for adjusting the alkalinity and pH of the feed water. In some cases it is necessary to adjust them to the desired levels to avoid problems such as corrosion and the formation of scaling.

Scaling is caused by insoluble calcium and magnesium salts. B-Fine 1150 is used as a dispersing chemical additive which reacts with the remaining hardness of the feed water and protects the boiler from deposits on its surface.

B-Fine 2001 captures residual oxygen in water to protect the boiler, the feed water tank and the return condensate lines from corrosion. Its ingredients are FDA approved.

Condensation of steam can lead to the absorption of oxygen and carbon dioxide, which will cause immediate corrosion in the return condensate lines. B-Fine 2004 is capable of forming a protective film in the piping.

B-Fine 2100 offers a complete solution for the protection of equipment, as it is an anti-corrosion, dispersant and oxygen-binding chemical additive.

Chemicals of Cooling Recirculation Systems

The main reasons why the water entering the cooling towers needs to be chemical treated are to maintain the efficiency of the operation of the units at high levels, as well as to protect the equipment from problems such as scaling, solids deposition, corrosion and growth of microorganisms.

The chemical additives of TEMAK provide solutions to these problems.

  • The sediments are formed from minerals which have previously been dissolved in water and precipitate through the water on the heat transfer surfaces or in water flow lines. The concentration of dissolved solids increases as water evaporates in a cooling tower.
  • The use of soft water in cooling towers inevitably causes equipment’s corrosion, even if it is from stainless steel. Therefore, it is necessary to cover the metal surfaces which come in contact with water, with a protective layer. C-Fine chemicals protect the equipment by keeping calcium in dispersion and preventing it from crystallizing.
  • When water comes in contact with air, various portable materials accumulate such as dust, insects, leaves. Therefore, sediments are created that displace a certain volume of water. Chemicals capable of inhibiting the formation of such sediments are therefore proposed.
    The above problems are solved using C-Fine 1009 which is recommended for use in open recirculation cooling circuits and is based on phosphates and polymers and is based on “allorganics” technology. For similar use, C-Fine 2008 is intended for use in open or closed recirculation cooling circuits and is based on molybdenum salts. C-Fine 2020 offers corrosion protection in closed recirculation cooling circuits and is based on nitrites.
  • Hot water areas in cooling towers are a potential breeding ground for harmful microorganisms, such as Legionella. Their growth impedes heat transfer but it can also have negatives.

Chemicals for Desalination Plants with Reverse Osmosis

The use of certain chemical additives is necessary for the smooth operation of the reverse osmosis system and water production. Of major importance are the chemicals that provide antiscaling protection to the reverse osmosis membranes.
