On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, we had the great honor of attending the inauguration of the new Drinking Water Treatment Plant designed and constructed by TEMAK for the Municipality of Velo–Vocha. The project was completed and delivered on schedule in less than four months, meeting the highest engineering standards and making a significant contribution to the modernization of the area’s drinking water infrastructure.

The inauguration ceremony was honored by the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Christos Dimas, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, Mr. Thanasis Kontogeorgis, and the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Ms. Marilena Soukoulis, highlighting the importance of the project for the local community and the sustainable management of water resources.

The new water treatment system has a capacity of 300 m³ of water per hour, providing more than 7,000 m³ of  drinking water every day. Equipped with advanced water treatment technologies, fully automated operation and high energy efficiency, the plant ensures reliable water quality, low operating costs and a reduced environmental footprint. Furthermore, the reuse of filter backwash water for irrigation purposes represents another important step towards the responsible and sustainable management of water resources.
