NEW DESALINATION PLANT IN THIRA

A new desalination plant was installed and started up by TEMAK SA at Thira Municipality in Santorini - Cyclades.

The desalination plant produces 1200 cubic meters per day of excellent quality drinking water, from brackish water, complying to EU and Greek Legislation.

The operation is based on the method of reverse osmosis by semi-permeable membranes, that seperate the salts from the clean drinking water through a series of advanced mechanisms and equipment.

Once again it is proven that desalination through reverse osmosis technology is the best solution for the production of drinking water from sea or brackish waters, because of its reasonable cost of acquisition and low running cost.

Desalination is practically the only solution and relief for the residents of arid areas of the country.
